Day 3 of 6

Aug 12, 2006 21:07

Well, it took me a while to get the room set up this morning, but I slept in my own bed for the first time in weeks. With dogs and, for the first time, a kitten. Snowflake spent pretty much all day on the bed by my side (and she isn't the one who usually is affectionate to me). Certainly, the kittens were glad to get to explore the basement, and ( Read more... )

I'm working on playing catch-up again...for instance, I'm wondering what happened between you and your bed? And where are you that requires a well to see out, and an escape hatch to get out???
I must have missed a lot....

Well...there was the Great Flood back in May, and we have our bedroom in the semi-finished basement, since the official bedrooms are too small to fit our bed (much less our headboard). Then there's the fact that our otherwise spacious house only has one bathroom (which is on the main floor (the other 3 bedrooms are on the second floor). So when we bought the house, we had planned a second bathroom in the basement - we got the first estimate last spring, but weren't ready to fork the money for it over yet ( ... )

Perfect. I'm totally relating to the big house, one bathroom thing.
I like the underground bedroom idea, especially for day sleeping.
Smart feller.

Sorry that you're left high & dry when you're working on the weekends (although, I can certainly commiserate). I plan to actually start posting on my LJ (what a concept) now that I am not working AND taking classes - and for this week and next week, doing neither. Woohoo! A break!

You??? Post??? Ever????

Wow, that would be excellent! Especially since I just haven't been able to get out that way, due to the constraints of our schedules, and the fact that I rarely even get to see wren13 these days...

Your woman complains that she has 400 posts to catch up on... and you think it's too quiet around here! :)

no kidding! sebastian_tombs August 14 2006, 03:18:34 UTC
Of course, if I only have 400 posts over the course of an evening, that is slow (to me). But that includes a bunch of news feeds and such - I use LJ as my RSS feeds reader as well as for keeping up with friends.

I do have a filter set up so that when things exceed 1000 (like if I am away for a week), I can skip the feeds (and another so that I can read them if/when I get bored)
