On a related note, she took the dogs down with her to Canton this week, so I was dogless for two days. Oddly, the bed seemed much larger without Oso in particular, although not quite as warm! Note to us: if we take the dogs again, we should remember to give the cats a catnip toy or some such, for use while safe from Nieve's destructive ( Read more... )

I might be getting sick. I felt too groggy to go out birding on the wonderful day that was Thursday, but my biggest symptom was a general lack of appetite and an incredible capacity for sleep. I slept 15 hours between 8am Wed. when I went to bed and 8am Thursday morning, when I tried to get up. I've been Airborne-ing to try to be prepared for ( Read more... )

We spent a chunk of last week back in Troy, visiting friends and family. I have not made it back there much over the last year or two, and need to do something about that.

Tuesday, I did (as predicted) call in sick. I pretty much slept, with exactly 9 waking hours between the time I got home Tuesday morning and when I got up Wednesday - er, noonish. wren13 was thoughtful enough to come and pick me up to take me to see betty_blaize's Boston Baby Dolls show, "Out For Blood". So today is kind of "hump day". I slept much better this morning, as the bedroom was cool enough to close and cover the window to make it darker. That's kind of a jury-rigged thing for now, we'll be able to do better when we can put some time into it and do it right. Well, it took me a while to get the room set up this morning, but I slept in my own bed for the first time in weeks. With dogs and, for the first time, a kitten. Snowflake spent pretty much all day on the bed by my side (and she isn't the one who usually is affectionate to me).
