Have just arrived back from our staff social which was an afternoon of lawn bowls, drinks and pizza. Naturally any event organised by me must involve costumes so we all wore our brightly coloured wigs from our 'Wig Wednesdays' last year. The last couple of days we have been doing stuff to farewell our staff member who is leaving. Yesterday we closed the library early and all 7 of us went and had manicures and pedicures (totally worth it - we are now planning to go every pay week). My treadmill was delivered and installed today - yay! It's awesome. I'd forgotten how much nicer they are to run on than the road. Now I should be able to save some time because I can exercise and watch my TV shows/DVDs simultaneously. Here's hoping I never fall off it because I'll take out my DVD collection which is immediately behind it.

I've been having Dory moments for the last 2 weeks. I keep going out to buy Opti Free contact lense solution and coming home with toothpaste. I now have 6 tubes of toothpaste and finally managed to buy some Opti Free on my way home from Ghost Town today, probably only because Sailorjedi saw me heading into the chemist and texted me ( Read more... )

We had our interhouse swimming carnival today and I was taking photos instead of DJing. The guy DJing alienated all the kids by playing almost none of their music, instead choosing to dedicate songs to our fellow teachers (who half the time couldn't work out why he was dedicating it to them). So yes, I enjoyed Kim and Shanan's 40th bash...or at least the parts I remember. It's been a whole day and I'm still feeling nauseated. I've been clearing out my cupboards and sorting all my clothes into piles according to size in an effort to take my mind off it.

This morning at work I reached across my desk, grabbed a piece of paper to throw in the bin and as I pulled my arm back I whipped myself in the left eye with it. It paper cut my contact lense in half! Thank goodness I'm blind or that would have been my eye. I think I have a slight scratch on my eye because it still hurts a bit. The Ball is over for another year and it was a smashing success. Kids came up and thanked me for my organisation and decorating all through the evening as well as giving me some shout-outs on the microphone. Today I booked and paid for my long service leave holiday. Hooray! Roll on July 3rd! I then went and had a massage to alleviate my stress headache and when I floated out of there I went past a shoe shop on my way to the car and a pair of killer bondage heels appeared in my hand :) How did they get there? Not important! :)
