I'm drawing a complete blank on where to buy nice (gift-quality/appearance), scented hand lotions that are vegan since I go for basic, cheap stuff for my own use. Any ideas? Bonus points for local retailers and/or manufacturers. I'll definitely hit Sidecar, but I'd love other ideas as well.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good tofu teriyaki place? I am looking for the tofu to be firm, not soft mushy stuff. I was going to start just trying everyplace I could find, but think suggestions might be a better place to start :) Thanks!

i'm a big fan of curio confections in the u-district. they aren't entirely vegan, but wednesday is "vegan day" and almost all the stuff is vegan... today it's mint-hazelnut scones, brownies, vegan quiche (which is actually really good), muffins, and a variety of other stuff. it's mostly a coffeeshop with snacks, but on sundays they apparently have ( Read more... )

Does anyone know what happened to Squid and Ink? We just went down there for dinner and they got rid of most of their menu and now only have a few so-so wraps and sandwiches - they seem to have the same ingredients they put in everything, but they put a different sauce on it. What happened? I used to love their grilled ham and cheese :(

Sidecar for Pigs Peace was robbed at gunpoint this weekend, please show them support this week by donating money or shopping there, or both :'( those poor guys. I can't even imagine how awful that would be for the people working that day. They're not open on Mondays.
