sliding scale/inexpensive vasectomy?

My partner and I do not want children and we are looking for a doctor to do a vasectomy. Unfortunately, he was laid off and I work retail while waiting to hear back about grad school. He'll also be going back to school soon. Therefore, very little cash and no insurance. Apparently these things cost $350 or so, which we do not have and probably wont ( Read more... )

their sliding scale only goes down to $350 from what they told me during my phone call, but perhaps I should go speak to them in person.

i went to the uw roosevelt clinic and am very happy with that and just added to my ever growing tab of money i owe them for medical bills

My husband got his done completely free by by Wayne Weissman, through this website: http://56sdhealthservices.com/free-vasectomy-for-denver-men/ It was a pretty neat find (and I think I found it through here, actually) and everything was covered, including the appointments after to make sure the thing took and he is actually sterile.

yeah, that's the one I found. How long ago was the procedure? They had/have limited funds so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they still have some available :)

I believe "Dr Snip" does payment plans. He's done most of the men I know, including my husband, with no complications and hey! you get a free pocket knife! And its no needle/no scalpel. Planned parenthood is probably cheaper though.

Check out the "Take Charge" program--it covers permanent birth control, inc. vasectomies.

Yep, that's what I was going to say. Take Charge is FAB! I got my tubal ligation through the program almost 9 years ago.
