Parks nad Rec just gets better, I think! I am so in love with Leslie Knope, i want her to be president. I freaked the fuck out over her winning Fandom march Madness this year. :) ENJOY! :)
LESLIEEEEEEEEEEEEE. I LOVE HER SO MUCH. I MAY HAVE MENTIONED THIS. And I LOVE her relationship with Ron, and yes, that part at the end of "Galentine's Day" when he is SO PERCEPTIVE, I just ADORE that--it's such a beautifully-written moment. (Ron actually gets a couple of those fantastic moments where the writers articulate the characters PERFECTLY, in ways that manage to be perfectly unsurprising yet still somehow revealing at the same time. Which is one of the reasons I love the show so much, because the characterization is SO SOLID, and consistent without ever feeling stale

Ron is such a stealth character in so many ways - he could SO EASILY be one-note and/or a walking cliche (bear of a man with a heart of gold) but they manage to skirt BOTH of those and make him this richly layered, fascinating character. And he's just one of MANY on the show. Even Andy has unexpected depths.
I love Andy and April TOGETHERYES YES YES. I really adore their interactions and that is ALWAYS when I like them best (I am SO GLAD they finally moved on from him being creepy about Ann because I could not take another minute of that). I also was not sure about April becoming Ron's intern but the last scene of the episode where she DOES was SUPER AWESOME (slamming the door on Tom) that I suddenly saw how genius of an idea it was. I love everyone together and I suspect Ron Swanson makes everything a little better

Parks and Rec!! I heart it so much. Why don't I have a P&R icon? Faiiiiiiil.
Ron and Leslie's friendship, I feel, is the best of many great things about the show. I seriously choked up several times at the beautifully deft way the show navigates their relationship. And I love how Leslie's decency and work ethic and all-around general awesomeness is celebrated whole-heartedly on the show, without any cynicism.
The way everyone treats Jerry bothers me as well. I think they try to diffuse it by having Jerry be the one who has his shit together the most when it comes to his personal life (happily married with grown children, etc.) but still. It bugs.
You're gonna see the ep that introduces Chris and Ben soon, I think! They are awesome additions to the cast. Rob Lowe is a surprisingly fantastic comedic actor! Who knew?

Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes. I just - YES. THIS SHOW. I feel like the Jerry stuff has somehow gotten better; not that they do it less, but that it's become more of the "goofy old uncle that we love but mess with" kind of way. It still bothers me sometimes (Tom in particular goes over the top with it, IMO), but overall it doesn't feel as oogy.
I don't know if it's because I knew it got good or what, but I didn't even think S1 was all that awkward! I mean it's clearly gotten MUCH BETTER, but it felt fairly strong even from the start.
