How did it take so long for me to hear about this?

Geek Girl Con is this weekend in Seattle! Jane Espenson and Gail Simone will be there, along with other media guests that I am not as familiar with. Heh. Looks like there's some very interesting panels running; anyone on my flist going?

I LOVED last week's Community. ( Quick thoughts )

community, meme-tastic, like the internet but in person, life, vid talk, poll the other one

I voted for Fringe, because it is awesome, though you have to be patient and get to the second half of the first season before the awesomeness becomes apparent. That said, have you never watched Brisco County Jr? It's been a LONG TIME since I last watched it (like, when it aired back in 1993 or whatever), but from what I remember of it, I think you might really like it!

And I join you and Cindergal in missing Fer.:(

I really haven't seen Brisco County Jr! AHH wants that one since it's light-hearted and short, but it's our last light-hearted show to watch and I hate to just have DARKDARKDARK all in a row. Hee.

I say Veronica Mars. But that's because I just watched it and miss it so.

You inspired me to pick up season 1 of Treme tonight!

Oh my goodness, I LOVE Treme. It's a very different show, IMO; quiet and kind of subtle. I think Season 2 was even stronger than S1. :)

All of these excellent shows ahead of me, regardless! Everyone's enthusiasm for them is gratifying.

My vote is for Brisco County. I had so much love for that show and was thrilled that it held up on rewatch. I can also strongly recommend Southland and Doctor Who (though this season has been a mixed bag).

I had to admit to myself last season that I had been sucked into shipping Jeff/Annie. I haven't shipped a canon couple since....Spike/Buffy? It's been a loooong time. And I didn't want to set myself up for disappointment because, yes, the relationship is a bit squicky given their TV ages. But now it seems they are going there! I actually thought last weeks episode was pretty heavy handed in addressing their relationship, but I also think maybe it had to be so Jeff could acknowledge he sees the issues in having feelings for Annie.

I thought of you specifically when I got Brisco County Jr! :)

I agree. I think they're trying to frontload it so that when it (theoretically) does happen, it doesn't feel out of the blue to the audience or the character.
