PB writers get facts wrong?? BUT I THOUGHT PRISON BREAK WAS A DOCUMENTARY. A documentary about cranication and prosthetic hands...

I, too, have not seen Star Trek yet out of spite.

(TSCC is awesomeness.)

PB writers need a beta *nods*

I went to see the new Star Trek movie yesterday. I found it fresh and enjoyable, but I am not fannish about any incarnation of ST so in that regard my opinion probably isn't worth much.

Trek & more.... themadblonde May 12 2009, 16:07:02 UTC
I found the new movie enjoyable & considering how much better it is than the last several, that's enough for me (actually, I completely skipped the last one, as it looked so dreadful). I did think they rather shafted Uhura, though.

Trek V, which...wow, it doesn't get more aggressively awful than THAT...

With you there. "Excuse me, why does God need a starship?" Although, @ the risk of causing a riot, I thought Ironman was much, much worse. What a cynical piece of tarted up crap that was! Poor Ms. Paltrow looked so utterly mortified to be involved.

Glad you're enjoying the weather. It's been lovely here. Spent last night enjoying a delightful piece of cinematic confisserie: "To Catch a Thief" Has any woman on screen ever topped Grace Kelley for beauty & charm?

Nemesis was definitely skippable (though better than ST V), so I'm glad it appears this movie is at least GOOD. It's a start. Heh.

My movie-watching education is so very limited. Though I have an extensive TV background, I just never watched too many older movies. Except musicals. Big fan of musicals!

at the same place now that I was when Ironman came out and was a huge hit: everyone I know is telling me how great it is, but I still don't want to see it. I suspect I will reluctantly go and have a great time (which is what happened with Ironman), it's just a matter of when.

That's exactly where I am. i was thrilled when I first found out about it, then even more thrilled at the casting, and now I'm just... eh.

While they are totally right to be annoyed by that, I'm just surprised that people think the PB writers look up ANYTHING.

Hee! Seriously, that was half of the appeal of S1 PB. A bunch of us would watch, show up for work the next day and rant about how badly Fox River Prison is run. (This was when I worked as a finance person in a prison. I'd find myself saying things during the ad-breaks that started with, "See, the reason a real prison wouldn't be run that way..." and ending with "But this is TV. They make it up. Or alternatively, US prisons are scary, badly-run places.")
