OMG MY KINDRED SPIRIT! *hugs you so hard*
The more I hear about Star Trek the less I want to bother, and I am so excited for T4 that I physically shake when I start to talk about it.

...Also, have you been watching TSCC? I don't think I have read a reference to it in this journal....

We are not alone!!! *clings*

I HAVE been watching TSCC, I just never have anything coherent to say about it because it's too smart. Heh. I'm really really hoping it comes back next season, and suspect part of that will depend on how the movie does (though I have no real reason to think so, it just seems logical). I have everything crossed!

WOW, you do have everything crossed... you are quite flexible for a pregnant lady.

Also, I am sure that your thinky thoughts are ten times smarter than most people's thinky thoughts, so bring them on! Preferably before season 3 (I AM NOT GIVING UP), since the wolfpup probably won't let you watch the show until he is 3. Oh, and I just noticed the "tscc" tag... great timing on my part.

and for some ungodly reason sat through ALL of Enterprise even though I wanted to maim everyone involved (except Tripp) by the end.)

Tripp didn't need maiming since HE BLEW HIMSELF UP. Not that I'm still bitter about that.

Star Trek V vs. Nemesis. WORD.

I have SO MUCH Enterprise bitterness, STILL. It's unbelievable.

people heatedly complaining that the show messed up by having the Indian ambassador say he was burying his son and not cremating him and railing about "how could they not look up this simple fact??".
And this is where I started laughing. Oh, PB writers. :|

Guess what I'm not going to talk about? The Star Trek movie! Because I haven't seen it yet! Take THAT, peer pressure!
Me neither! (I'm thisclose to persuading my friend to come along. Even though we've both never seen TOS. I have seen about 4 seasons of Voyager, though.)

Especially since Terminator: Salvation is out in two weeks and I am REALLY looking forward to that.
Me too! (For some weird reason, I will keep expecting Cameron and Derek to show up on my screen throughout the movie, I'm sure of this.)

Oh, PB writers.

I say this A LOT.

I would love to see Cameron and Derek show up in the movie! But I'm not hopeful. :\

That's like up there with the news that having friends is good for your health, I think :P

even Star Trek V, which...wow, it doesn't get more aggressively awful than THAT so all those people who say Nemesis was the worst Trek movie can bite me

Hee. But the confrontation with "God"! **laughs** What crazy fun terrible movie times.

My friend Kenneth postulated that the new Trek is kind of like Iron Man in that the movie is pretty much "saved" by the strong performance of its leading man - in this case Pine as young!Kirk - but I think you can get away with waiting to check this one out. I don't think it's quite as good as the critical reception would lead one to believe, especially since I think one should rightfully expect more than comic-bookish action from a Star Trek film.

Hah. I agree. I certainly didn't need a study for that one. *g*

Interesting! Especially since Pine looks like the least interesting part of the movie to me. Heh.

I had the same take going in! I was fully expecting to hate his portrayal of Kirk at worst, and be bored by him at best, but to my complete surprise, he really won me over. There are some character things I had issues with, but performance-wise, I found him completely believable as a younger incarnation of Captain James T.

Just read the "10 things you should know..." And, I guess I'm more of a Trekkie than I knew because when taraljc listed 'good' Star Trek novels of the original crew, I looked up at my book shelf and realize that I already own one of the listed books. In hardback. Heh.
(And if you want good but cracked out TNG novel, I still have a love for Peter David's "Q-Squared")

I think I've read Q-Squared, although I don't remember it entirely right now. My two favorite Star Trek books are Prime Directive (TOS) and Metamorphosis (TNG). I've re-read those a lot.

I don't think I've read "Prime Directive" but "Metamorphosis" is also one of my faves.
