I've made another animated icon (Nikki Wood)

I've made another animated icon. Nikki Wood, Slayer and mother:

(Icon is, unfortunately, a little to big to use
on LiveJournal. If you'd like me to reduce it
for you to use, just leave a comment and
I'd be happy to do it.)

Some back-story, if you care:

This icon was inspired by two things, though I won't claim that I'm trying to make any grand statement about either. (ETA: This is not entirely true, I suppose.) The first thing was Joss Whedon's commentary on Angel Season 5's "The Girl in Question" and the resulting discussions about canon. The different perspectives put forth were really interesting, and I learned a lot about how we read our shows based on our backgrounds or schools of thought.

The second thing was deevalish's post on Spike as an anomaly. I tried explaining why Angel S5, and the episode "Damage" in particular, gave me a lot of my Spike-love back. Now, I don't want to harsh anyone's mellow, or get in the way of people borrowing Rob's pom-poms to cheer on their shows -- but I have had have BIG, HUGE ISSUES with Buffy Season 7's "Lies My Parents Told Me". I have Issues about Spike in Season 7. And even though I've mostly worked out my Issues over what I thought the writers were trying to say with "Lies My Parents Told Me", I'm still pretty twitchy on the subject.

Er. Also, not incredibly coherent. *facepalm* Sorry. I'm honestly not trying to bash. I've accepted that I can love Spike in my own way, which is probably a complete 180 degrees in the opposite direction from the way most Spike-fans love him. This is not a problem for me anymore, and I hope it won't be a problem for you.

Aaaand it's possible none of you actually care whether I like Spike or not. *sheepish grin* Anyway...

In conclusion: I love Nikki. I love the Chinese Slayer. I love Dana. I love the First Slayer. I love Buffy and Kendra and Faith and Kennedy and Rona and Amanda and Chao-Ahn and Vi and Melaka Fray.

I don't hate Spike. I rather enjoy him. At times I even kind of love him. However I will never love him more than I love a Slayer -- any Slayer.
