Hello! How is everyone doing? It's 12/12/12, which means it's been a while. Not sure how much I can catch up on people's DW/LJ, but I will make an effort. My fandom blackout hasn't been total, however. I *tried* to resist AO3, but kept sneaking around Leechblock by using Safari instead of Firefox. Pathetic, huh? Took the GO bus home tonight and met my parents for dinner. We didn't want to wait for a table at the steakhouse, so opted for Japanese instead, only to be told there was also a wait. But then we got seats at a teppanyaki table, so we had spur-of-the-moment teppanyaki. SO MUCH FOOD. Plenty of leftovers for tomorrow's lunch.

I think I've figured out what to make of this new, not-exactly-improved Chloe, which is that she's suffered psychological trauma and has developed some unpleasant coping mechanisms as a result. It's... not exactly a conventional reading of her character arc, I think? But it makes a lot of sense to me. Plus, embracing Chloe's downward spiral helps ( Read more... )

So... Basically, Chloe's actions in Season 8 are consistent with her characterisation? And the choices she makes re Davis, and the behaviour/attitude she exhibits towards Clark flow organically from who she is as a person, when she's at her worst?
