Scribes of Angel is Ten Years Old!

On Thursday, Scribes of Angel will be Ten Years Old. Wow… the time has simply flown, and it has been one heck of a ride. I’ve learnt a lot along the way. I’ve read some fabulous stories and I’ve had a ball. But best of all, I’ve met some lovely people, and made some wonderful friends along the way

wow that is a land mark. ten years ago I had just suffered the loss of my surgical career and had moved in with evil_little_dog in FL so I could train for a new career. Writing fanfic with her got me through a very ugly time

Yes, I remember you used to live with her, but I always assumed you met online. Id that not the case?

I hope that fanfic still gives you comfort…?

nope I've known her since the 80's but we did find each other via fandom back in the old paper zine days via Elfquest

Has it been that long? *Gosh!* Where has the time gone. I think I read your early website Eternity, I think it was called. And then I discovered Scribes. The stories there were always top quality, were well written and it was/is a great place to browse and lose oneself in. You contacted me and asked for my very first story. And that was the beginning of my fanfic writing days

Has it been that long? *Gosh!* Where has the time gone. I think I read your early website Eternity, I think it was called.

You remember right. Eternity was my first site and I cringe now when I recall all the awful newbie mistakes I made while running it! But Eternity had a fanfic section that turned out to be the part that I most enjoyed doing, and people most enjoyed visiting, so I removed and expanded it and Scribes of Angel was born.

And then I discovered Scribes. The stories there were always top quality, were well written and it was/is a great place to browse and lose oneself in. You contacted me and asked for my very first story. And that was the beginning of my fanfic writing days.

Then I’m glad I asked!

Was I writing 10 years ago? No. I started writing 9 years ago. But I was reading 10 years ago, I had just discovered fanfic. I had bought every Buffy and Angel book in shops and then, by chance, I came across a website that offered fanfic. In those days there wasn't Live Journal and you had to put up your own site, or

Congratulations! I may have moved to another fandom but at heart I will always be a Scribes girl. It's a place I come back to when I need an Angel fix and I know there will be a quality read. Hearing there will be a new story EVERY DAY for the next two weeks well, my heart has grown a bulge in it. Many happy returns and many more stories ahead I hope.
