lake george, the vaguest of details

This week at work is going to be painful, especially after getting nothing done to prep for it. But, I'm okay with that, as I had a lot of fun at the Lake George tournament this weekend. FWIW, Sam is all of ... 13 now. He's been studying like a fiend lately, and I'm happy to see it's paying off. He's going to be tough to beat in the NSSC next year.

Yep! It's hard to believe that he's been playing just about as long as I have. He and I played in club his first time at the age of 8 ... after he read Word Freak.

we have a nine year old in our club right now who has beaten a 1700 rated player.

Sam was 3rd. Kurt Kopitz (28th seed) was 2nd.
