My reaction to Damon getting tortured is, “Oh, he’ll be fine.”
That is much kinder than my reaction, which was basically just maniacal laughter. The Caroline torture scene last week was so awful and heart-wrenching though. ))):

LOLOLOL. I love it whenever you laugh maniacally *_* Heather was watching the ep before me and telling me about it on AIM and she was all, "OH GOD, THESE WEREWOLVES AND THEIR TORTURE!" And I said, "WHAT'S HAPPENING? WHO IS IT NOW?" "DAMON!" And hence the "oh he'll be fine," reaction XD But god, I kept twitching over Caroline's torture D:

Or rather, I have a problem with the fact that he’s otherwise okay with the fact that Damon is compelling her and using her as food and sex.

THIS is one of the biggest problems I have with the show. WHY IS IT OKAY FOR DAMON TO DO BAD THINGS WHY IS HE STILL A GOOD GUY STOP IT.

I mean, I'll be the first to admit that I love Damon because he's a psychopath, and I'm super interested in a character who operates on a different moral code than any human (because vampires should have different morals than humans. Stefan is just a freak and even he can get sketchy). But he's not a good guy to me, just a guy on Team Elena, and I tend to get really worried the writers don't see this, that they think he's some kind of ~romantic~ anti-hero, which would just ruin what I love about the character (in addition to making me want to throw stuff at the writers). But then again, I have strange ideas for this show and like to interpret all the characters as much darker and way grayer than the writers are probably intending. WHATEVER WRITERS, INTENT DOES NOT MATTER AT THE END OF THE DAY.

And the writers really need to address the Caroline rape--Caroline shoving him in Brave New World isn't enough for me, I NEED THAT TO BE ADDRESSED, it can't just exist in my own headcanon. (also, I think the reason Dean gets crucified for a ( ... )

I have no issue with things being fucked up for the sake of being fucked up (Stefan/Amber is a huge thing of mine), but it doesn't seem like the writers get that. I feel like part of that issue is that Damon's interaction with Elena this season has been highly suspect (more, I think, from producer interfering than anything else because they are clearly pushing a Stefan/Elena agenda) and they want people to like Damon because Ian is their pull to the watchers, but they are not Eric Kripke and don't understand that the love between two brothers is sacred and they're taking away all the things that ever made Damon good and it's just leaving this character in a stasis where they're trying to force people into the Elena role rather than just putting her back there or allowing Stefan to be there and let brotherlove rule the show. (Secret: I REALLY really want Stefan to have to choose between Elena and Damon and choose Damon ( ... )

I just saw this episode tonight when they replayed it! Yay, my timing.

Oh god, Tyler. What do you think they want to kidnap Elena for?! I guess he was deluding himself into thinking that they're only willing to kill vampires, but good grief. I get him leaving town, but leaving with Jules?! I kind of like Jules in a villain type of way, but you know that she's lied to you and was willing to kill Elena. WTF? I can see him sort of rationalizing Caroline in a "well they just hate vampires" type of way, but YOU KNOW SHE WAS USING YOU. Ack. Yeah, I'm choosing to believe that he needs to figure out a way to stop himself from killing random people ( ... )

She takes vervaine though, so random fling/one-night stand is maybe okay? I also ship her a little with Liz Forbes. I want them to run the town together. I ship Carol/Damon from the standpoint of really enjoying the Damon/Women-who-only-look-older-than-him dynamic XD DAMON/COUGAR OTP. Mostly, I just want Carol to have a fling with him, since she views him as the "22-year-old" young man who keeps flirting with her :D ( ... )

Gurl, the indecisiveness in this sentence is so wrong.

I like Jonas and Luka better now that I know why they're doing what they're doing. I'm now thoroughly interested in the sister and why Klaus took only her. I can only suspect that she is ONE hell of a witch and I CAN NOT wait to see who the actress is. And what kind of relationship does she have with Klaus? Is it simply what what we've seen with Katherine & Lucy-- Elijah & Jonas or is there something more? THAT would be and I'm sure as heck want to see it.

Also, I don't care that Elijah plans to sacrifice Elena, I want him to stay. I don't believe he wants Elena dead, he just wants to lure out Klaus. Klaus is the threat and I think if all of them just work together to get rid of him Elijah can go back to doing whatever the hell he was doing before coming to Mystic Falls. I really want him to live.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by indecisiveness XD Mostly, I meant Damon's done enough terrible things that getting tortured is just the universe's way of paying it back.

I think I liked Luka since he first appeared, or maybe since he and Bonnie did that awesome spell with the leaves in one ep. But now I feel for him mooooore. I'm really super interested in who his sister is, but I don't think it would be a Katherine & Lucy thing? Katherine & Lucy seemed like a reluctant, but willing partnership, while I got the impression Luka's sister was taken forcefully from them. Either way, I'm really much more sympathetic to someone who's doing this for his family.

I think Elijah wants Elena dead, but not out of malice? If you remove all emotion and attachments, Elena dying in the sacrifice so Elijah can strike Klaus when he thinks he's won is the best plan. BUT I ALSO WANT HIM TO STAY. PLZ CONTINUE BEING A SMOOTH BADASS, ELIJAH.
