[It figured that the time Scar finally defeated Senji, he couldn't even enjoy his victory. The Deadman had always been an outlet for frustration for Scar--whenever something had him angry or annoyed, with energy he needed to burn, steam to blow off, Senji was the one he went to. There was hardly a better sparring partner; Senji liked to fight, and he didn't care enough to ask him what was bothering him, like others might--just give him the release he needed

[Ambush it is, then. There's a little tug at the corner of his mouth when Scar finds himself caught, obviously not wanting to be... well, anywhere near this situation right now.]

[For his part, Senji almost manages to feel bad about it. Kind of. And then Scar makes that little comment - awkward as ever, it's almost comforting that that's still there, in a way - and even that slips away from him. There's something they obviously need to discuss, yes, but first there's something even more important than that.]

She'll find some way to market it. Speakin' of, I got some words for you, big guy.

[He pushes away from the wall, looking particularly serious about this matter, and knowing that every movement closer is probably pushing Scar's comfort zone. Not that he stops, of course. Why would he do that?]

[Scar takes a few steps back in pace with Senji's advance, on instinct. It's a reaction he might have tried to squelch were it someone like Mei, but right now he needs as much distance between himself and 'Crow' as he can manage, physically and otherwise.

Something bristles strangely at that nickname Senji always uses, that epithet of "big guy." He never paid it much mind before, but it strikes him now. Why didn't he just call him Scar like everyone else? But he doesn't bring it up, shows no sign it bothered him other than a slight deepening of that scowl. It's strange how the littlest things about Senji are setting off his frustration.

But then Senji grins and starts talking about his victory, and for a moment Scar thinks maybe he can fake his way through this--exchange a few pleasantries to appeal to Senji's sense of sportsman's honor or whatever and get the hell out before they hit the topic he was not ready to talk about...]

[He isn't grinning anymore, not really. He looks... mildly irritated, if that. The truth is, he's guessed a bit more than he might have let on during their last conversation, but it didn't matter, exactly. He'd never been very indulgent when these things came up.]

[Now that they're face to face, finally, he'd prefer to get it out of the way, and Scar's twitchiness be damned. Senji folds his arms together over his chest, and there's still blood on them from the fight. He hasn't really cleaned up at all.]
