[Scar doesn't exactly hurry in getting to Duncan's pub. In fact, after letting Mei know where he's going (or rather, that he's going 'out' and won't be back until after she's asleep to save her worry), he takes a roundabout route to the place, even though he knows exactly where it is.

He's doing it on purpose, really, keeping track of time with his Forge. Scar doesn't show up until exactly fifteen minutes have passed. Serves Senji right for forcing him into this.

The night air is a bit chilly for him without his usual yellow jacket, but he ignores it. It's not like he has the time or the money to buy new clothes, and isn't that why he took Riza up on her offer to mend his jacket in the first place?]

I wonder how much I'm going to regret this later on. [A muttered grumble, by way of greeting.]

[He hears the voice, the footsteps, before he even sees the other man, and what a dour soul he was, too - even for Senji, who didn't have much use for pointless cheer. It was a matter of degrees, perhaps, and anyway it just made him more fun to mess with.]

[In response to that greeting, Senji gives a sharp little chuckle and pushes away from the wall.]

Ah, are you gonna be so negative all night? Don't make this harder than it needs to be.

[He gives Scar a slap on the back - clearly not stopping to think whether or not that's even a good idea - and a little shove in the direction of the door. Which he then heads for himself, moving past Scar to open it.]

If you're lucky, you'll only regret a little of it.

Not sure. But I figure you've known me long enough to hazard a guess.

[It's strange, how it is with Senji. There's always that odd banter...aside from when they're speaking seriously. But it's hardly like that with anyone else, and sometimes he wonders, absently, at it.

He can't help the widening of his eyes at the sudden contact, though, and has whipped around before he can even stop himself. His arm hangs awkwardly in midair for a moment before he drops it, and turns back around.]

I'd prefer if you didn't do that again, once we're inside. [Once he's inebriated, is what is left unsaid.]

[Oh, he caught that reaction there-- should have expected it, really, and maybe that's why it doesn't seem to phase him. This was Scar very deliberately shoved out of his element, after all; it's no wonder he'd be a little skittish.]

[Or... a lot skittish. Not that it matters to Senji. He waves his hand a little as he waits for Scar to catch up, standing just inside the door.]

Fine, fine. Man, you're worse off than I thought you were. Relax, I ain't gonna do anything.

Probably.

[And that's about when he gets bored of standing there, so he heads off to find some seats, holding a hand up to Scar as he walks even though he's no longer facing him.]

Come on, Mr. Negative, you're gonna cheer up even if it kills me.
