[a few minutes after Lavi stopped responding, Kanda sent a message.

lavi?

and when that wasn't replied to, he sent another.

hey, don't ignore me.

....

hey stupid rabbit, are you even there?

by then, Kanda was pretty much convinced that Lavi had either a) vacated the building, b) turned off his Forge, or c) all of the above. it took only a moment of contemplation for him to make up his mind. he'd thought about wearing that sweater that Lavi gave him for Christmas (at least, he supposed it was a sweater, if Lavi said so), but. it wasn't.. quite proper. and it was too hot.

inside Lavi's room at Patrol HQ, Kanda had settled himself into a chair and was sending nonsense text messages to Lavi's Forge, even as it went off nearby. s'what the rabbit gets for not taking his Forge along.

and. the duckling kept making sounds every time it went off and it's kind of fun. lskdjf.

..he wonders where Lavi might be, though. and if this is really a good idea.]

[He's still up on the rooftop, oblivious to Kanda's texting craze. Honestly, who would have thought that Kanda Yuu, the stoic swordsman, would be texting his in-denial-about-best-friend like a modern-age teenage girl?

But honestly he would have been touched had Kanda worn the sweater, even gifted him early the new pair of boots and hair-tie that he had purchased before this dream. Even if Kanda always said don't get him anything, Lavi wondered if he got a secret little thrill at being thought of enough to have gotten something ( ... )

[hey, he tries hard not to get on anyone's good side enough to get presents. it's.. a bit touching. but in the end, presents (gifts, favors, the little good things in life) shouldn't be given to something like him.

there'll be a full five minutes' worth of 'hey, duck. hey.' messages, clearly directed at Damia. of course, had he been actually thinking (or caring), he'd realize that Lavi would find these messages later. but that's no big deal.

it's perhaps after the, uh. nth text or so that Kanda stops and simply settles for a seat next to the window. something about the way Lavi didn't reply to his last text message still nags at him in a.. less than comfortable way. he wouldn't be camping out in Lavi's room, otherwise.]

[Too bad, really, because Lavi would keep on giving them to Kanda until he at least accepted one. And it would make getting around in his room pretty hard ( ... )
