[Ax is not surprised that the natives of Anatole have not taken kindly to the unwilling visitors. He has seen the posters (they would be impossible to miss), and is perfectly aware that if he were in his usual body, it is likely people would assume he was a monster first, and ask questions later, if at all.

It also occurs to him that if Marco could do what Trickster is able to, he would probably use his powers in a very similar, not necessarily productive, way.]

[He knows it is a bad idea, but there is something irresistible about showing his true form to someone. (He has already been tempted to show it to Verity, but that is... somewhat different.)

And so Ax makes certain the transmission is secure, and sends video of himself demorphing (his stalk eyes appear first, and he is certain the sounds are not pleasant to hear), along with thoughtspeak, out of necessity.]

[Part of this is that Ax does not understand the finer points himself.

A much, much larger part of it is that it is ingrained in Ax not to share information about Andalite technology with outsiders. Not even if they are beings who are close to godlike.]
