Special? Would you mind elaborating on that, miss?

Ah ... well, I can only use in certain circumstances and places. But in Somarium, I don't think there's anything like that.

[scholastical]

Oh, is that so? Would you mind elaborating on those special circumstances, miss?

Um... do you mean armagus? Where I'm from, armagus is the fusion of magic, or magus, and technology. It's pretty complicated, though... there's a lot of history behind it...

[ Thoughtful look. He doesn't really want to utterly divulge how he captures and kills people, though. ] Is it really important, Mister?

Oh? That is utterly fascinating! Would you be willing to tell me more about it? I will certainly do my best to understand--

Ah, yes, you see, our hopes were to discover how the relative differences or similarities in our worlds allows for us to be drawn into this one. If we are able to find correlations in the data, perhaps conclusions shall be able to be drawn for how to prevent more from being drawn in and, perhaps, how to leave.

Oh, I see. I understand, then. I don't mind at all.

Yes, Carl is a know-it-all child, and you are going to certainly get a lot to take in. ] Well, if I'm remembering my history lessons correctly, around 2099 is when the Black Beast showed up, in my world. No one knows where it came from, but nothing could stop it that humanity could make. Back then technology was really primitive still, so we only had nuclear weapons, and they had no effect for ten years. But since the monster coated everything in a mist called Seithr, a witch named Nine found out that we could harness and with time, use it for magus.

She was one of the Six Heroes who defeated the Black Beast. They taught humanity how to combine technology with magic, and about the seithr. It can be kind of dangerous for humans to be over-exposed to it, since it's highly poisonous in concentrations, but if you use it right, you can do just about anything with it. That time was called the Dark War.

[ He looks pleased with his explanation.

Fascinating. It is quite interesting that there are parallels, in parts, between your world and mind.

But technology and magic are combined in your world? It sounds to me as though magic came after technology in terms of development, is that so?

Can you tell me anything about the magic or technology of your world?

*Oh hey, it's the old Chemistry teacher who apparently was just as caught up in things as he was.*

For what it's worth, there's no magic in my world, and the technology there was about the same as it is here.

[scholastical]

Is that so? My, that is curious. It is in line with Hakkai's observations, of course, but it is quite strange that such a thing is so prevalent in some worlds, and yet entirely absent in others...

[Sorry, he's a bit off in his own world now. :D;;]

*Cuts in,* So you're saying that most worlds seem to have at least some kind of technology like this places'? Then what about those other worlds? What makes them so different?

What we are attempting to discover is the development of both magic and technology in these separate worlds, for, you see, it seems as though for the majority of the worlds, one has developed far more than the other.

There's magic in my world... most people didn't know about it until really recently, though.

Oh? Would you mind elaborating on the sort of magic your world has?

There's magic that covers the four elements, there's magic that lets you hit harder or prevent from getting hit or heal injuries... and then there's the magic that lets you summon demons, but there are others from my world who would know about that more.
