The first round of my fangirl frenzy seems to have gone over well, so here's the next batch. ~grin~ The same caveat applies, and these are multi-fandom recs. (And if you don't know what I'm talking about, please read
here first.)
Chaos is Come Again by Aashby - Intricately plotted, with wonderful characterizations, I enjoyed the fic from beginning to end. Oh, and read the chapter notes; not only are they interesting, but they'll lead you to a (somewhat) hidden epilogue. (Harry Potter, complete, Snape/Granger)
Cloak of Courage by
wendynat A roller coaster of a storyline, an all too human Hermione, a very intense Snape, and a race to defeat Voldemort. What's not to like? ~grin~ (Harry Potter, complete, Snape/Granger)
Dr. Faustus, I Presume? by
melisande88 - I keep being drawn back to this story; disturbing and plausible, it focuses on a minor character's temptations. (Harry Potter, complete, no pairing)
For the Payoff by Jezzie - If Snape and Hermione were to ever get together, this just might be the way it happens. ;) (Harry Potter, WIP, Snape/Granger)
Grimmauld Nocturna by Warded Portal - Horror done with style. Dark and malevolent, the atmosphere is set from the first sentence. Not for the faint of heart, but highly recommended. (Harry Potter, complete, Lupin/Granger & Snape)
Jus Ad Bellum by Jenn - I was enthralled by this story. In a split second, everything that Rogue has known is turned upside down, leaving her to walk a very dangerous tightrope. (X-Men AU, WIP, although partial epilogue posted, Wolverine/Rogue)
Message in a Bottle by DebbieB - I laugh every time that I read this fic, and it's a lovely reminder that the more things change, the more they stay the same, even when it comes to Vulcans. (Star Trek TOS, complete, Spock/Chapel, erm, in a way)
One for Sorrow by
lilith_morgana - This is just heartbreaking, but very compelling, and it made it difficult for me to ever view Eileen Prince in any other fashion after reading this. (Harry Potter, complete, Eileen Prince/Tobias Snape)
Pet Project by Caeria - A realistic Hermione on a mission to help Snape. Add a conspiracy with the House Elves, and you have a very enjoyable story. I keep a close eye out for updates on this one. (Harry Potter, WIP, pre-Snape/Granger)
Safe From Harm by Maya Tawi - She's managed to get the voices of the characters down and this fic could be a novelization of an actual episode. (House, complete, no pairing, but House/Wilson slashy undertones)
Strangers and the Strange Dead by Kipler - One of my favorite X-Files fics, the author manages a wonderful bit of prestidigitation, keeping the reader guessing until the very end. (X-Files, complete, Mulder/Scully.
Note: Because Gossamer prohibits direct linking, you'll have to search by author name or story title to find this story, but it's well worth the extra effort.)
Thunder Road by excessivelyperky - A unique point of view, and a killer last line makes this priceless; and yes, that's a pun, but I couldn't help it. ~grin~ (Harry Potter, complete, no pairing, or at least not really)
The Village by
josanpq - A prosaic village and their mysterious new resident... Wonderfully written with a gorgeous eye for detail, all leading up to an ending that caught me completely by surprise. (Harry Potter, complete, no pairing)
That should keep you busy for a while. The next batch will be posted tomorrow. Enjoy. ;)
