Well, it's not like a Friday cliffhanger on General Hospital or anything. This is just a tiny bit of suspense building, that's all. :)
Maybe in some ways, Nathan and Haley are still 17 with each other. Like, did you ever have a friend when you were younger, and someone moved or whatever, and when you'd see them after that, it was like you were right back at that age when you last saw them? Almost like a regression where all of a sudden you are right back there, right back when your relationship was last strongest.
Peyton is a good friend! See, I can write a nice Peyton!
heck no it's not general hospital, it's soooo much better which is why the cliff hanger is soooo much more painful. Gah. lol
I definitely understand the regression thing, although I had really looked at it in that light so now I've got a whole new perspective on this Naley thing and my head is just a-swimmin' with all the possibilities of how things could go.
You do write a lovely nice Peyton, which I observed AND commented on in CM&TM. Brooke however in AN...skank much? lol
leaning forward resting his knees on his elbows.Oh, and I just have to quote this part because I had to stop and think for like two minutes when I read it
( ... )
I did! I usually don't get them up until fairly late, but I promised so I was definitely going to get that one up before midnight my time. :)
Thank you! I'm glad it was enjoyable. This chapter and the next one were particularly enjoyable to write. Any chapters with a lot of NH interaction is usually fun for me, even when it isn't so fun to read!
Oh, wouldn't that just take the cake? Some guy who totally broke your heart, showing up again and walking back in like he owns the place? Blood would be boiling; mine for sure, and possibly his, in a pot on my stove.
Nathan has a lot to work out; he's definitely felt like he wanted to work things out with Haley again, and he's kind of waited for that opportunity, but seeing her again crystallized all that and he knows for sure now. And now that he knows Haley wants him just as much as he wants her...poor Haley. Of course our Nathan would use that against her! :)
I'll update as soon as I can, promise! No timeframe promise, but soon.
Heh, Luke is definitely passive-aggressive, but in this case, I think his poor, little misguided heart is in the right place. He's caught in the middle between his loyalty to his best friend and that remaining loyalty he has to Luke. And like I mentioned to someone else, he was caught in the middle the first time NH went around, and he got tossed aside by Nathan, too. I don't think being between NH is a place Luke really wants to be again! (He's dumb, but he ain't that dumb...)
Yeah, there are way too many things flying between NH for an encounter - late at night, on a warm summer night - not to get a little physical. Neither of them have really, truly moved on enough to actually have the presence of mind to keep things from going to that next level. In some ways, both are still in the exact place they were when they last parted

Don't get me wrong. I could totally envision Haley taking Nathan back if he truly had changed. If they got to know each other in the present. Resolved the anger and moved beyond it. I truly believe they have significant unresolved feelings and that they could fall in love again. The problem is that I don't see Nathan trying to get to know the new Haley. He thinks if he just apologizes and admits he loves her all will be well and they'll have their happily ever after. Haley isn't going for this and I really don't blame her. I have no doubt she'll whip him into shape. The boy needs to finally grow up! I really am enjoying this fic. Take care Brynne and thanks for the response to my comment.

My head is still swimming with possibilities, too. There's a lot to work out still, even despite how far ahead I've written, which makes it fun.
Not just skank, but mean and spiteful. Baaad, baaad thing!
