necromancy

Huh. I think this is the first real AU I've written. I honestly don't know if I will continue to play with this 'verse or not. It's a distinct possibility.

title: Necromancy
with: Hawkes, Hammerback
rated: PG
disclaim: I only own the DVDs; everything belongs to Zuiker, CBS, et al.
note: the background rules of the story make it AU

necromancer - one who interrogates the dead )

char: sid hammerback, genre: gen, fic, char: sheldon hawkes, genre: au, fandom: csi:ny, tone: fellowsoldiers, grouping: necromancy

*grin* Thank you. I have to admit, it was fun to write and I am thinking about playing a little more in this 'verse. I think there has to be one more person at the lab who can see the dead, but who lives in denial and keeps it secret...

Oh, I really, really hope that you continue with this AU. I loved this and it's SO interesting. And of course, I pretty much like anything with Sid in it. Thanks!

More in this 'verse is looking like a strong possibility. Hawkes and Hammerback were a lot of fun to play with here.

And writing this just cemented my steadily growing fondness for Sid.

Oh, I love this idea! And there can never be too much Hawkes or Hammerback fic. In fact, there's never enough!

I guess this means Ducky from NCIS must be able to see dead people, too. ;-)

Hehehe. I swear I had a line in there where Hawkes thinks that he knows plenty of m.e.'s who get away with talking to themselves, like Dr Mallard down in DC--but I ended up cutting the line for being awkward. I'm glad you liked it.

Thank you. I don't read AU all that often myself, and I'm really surprised to find myself writing it. It ended up being a lot of fun though, and I'm really glad that it's successful. For a couple months now I've been thinking about how procedurals like CSI, where practically every episode starts with a dead body, are a kind of ghost story, and everything kind of grew from there.
