if you can live without colouring.. yuko system hair straightening (see my user pic) will seriously reduce and possibly remove the need to straighten at all... its a bit pricy, but id say worth it.. you can still use dyes, but not bleach after.
Thanks! I remember reading your post about that because it was something I looked into a few years ago. I honestly think that even if I were to not bleach in the future, the already bleached hair would just snap off during the straightening process. I live in fear of going to the hairdressers because it struggles to survive the post-cut blow-dry. It's definitely something I would consider in the future though, if I decide to change my hair colour. The problem is because I'm quite freckly, I seem to suit lighter hair colours. Stupid genes!
I think you would suit a style with lots of layers that was really short at the back, had longer layers at the front so it created the illusion of being like a bob, but with a side parting and a bit of a fringe on one side only... I hope that makes sense!
P.S. I wish I had your features so I could just do away with all of it! I came very close to just hacking out a fringe last night from sheer desperation and wanting to do something to it. I imagine it really must have felt very liberating. x
I loved Lucy's hair in that post. Alas, my hair isn't naturally curly - it just sort of waves a bit and looks fried in its natural state. I can do this with curling irons:
Don't worry - everyone had one at the time. But not all perms are tight curls. It could work, but it's probably best to do something in harmony with what nature gave you, rather than trying to fight Her.
I like some of the other suggestions. I am no expert, sadly.

You may as well do it once. You can always start afresh if you don't like it :)
