Barring concrete answers via observation, you make a decision one way or the other and just go with it.

The decision was made a long time ago, I just want to know if it was the best decision to make.

That's not what I meant.

Was it, objectively, the best decision? Perhaps, perhaps not, but it was the best decision you could have made at the time. You are only yourself, after all, and it is unfortunately impossible for most people to learn from harmless mistakes.

I don't even know if it was the best decision at the time. I thought it was, but I think if I'm honest with myself I might have just been telling myself.
