[Arashi] ARASHI IS ALIVE! - Ohno Satoshi

Nov 26, 2008 22:59

I'm cutting it pretty close, but there's still about an hour left here before Ohno's birthday is over. I wasn't even originally planning to do anything, but since his interview was up next in this series I thought I'd get it out quickly. XD

Comments always appreciated; enjoy!

ARASHI IS ALIVE!

"Arashi's concerts are things created with our fans together."

- Ohno Satoshi

-- You've conquered the 5 domes at last. What are Oh-chan's thoughts on this?

The first and foremost would probably be "That was quick!". But the periods between shows in this tour were pretty spaced out, so there's really a fresh feeling every time. We've done Tokyo and Osaka before, but this dome tour is a first for us, so of course there were also places that we've never been to before. Besides that, Sho-kun had been injured. There were lots of things that had happened. Though it was truly fun and I was really touched, after the last show at Sapporo ended, there was a feeling of "Huh? It's over already?" too.

-- I think it's wonderful to be able to create a stage to such extent that tens of thousands of people from various cities would go wild over.

But the concert wasn't created entirely on our own. Arashi worked with the staff to create a base of sorts, and then with the addition of fans to the mix, it was created with everyone together from that point on-- that's the kind of feeling I have.

-- Speaking of which, you spoke on stage to the fans that "we've exchanged energy with you".

That's right, I did say that (laugh). Because the concerts are like festivals. It's a feeling of "Everyone, let's sweat it out!" in the same space together. But you know, to be honest, even though the tour has ended, there's no feeling of it actually being over. More like we've only got a little bit of rest. We've got AROUND ASIA coming up soon after all. We need to brace ourselves and keep going.

-- Your exhibition, "FREESTYLE", also toured various cities as well, didn't it?. On a certain level, it was also a new challenge to Oh-chan as an individual.

It's unbelievable, isn't it? There was a "Is it really okay to do this!?" sort of feeling (laugh). In the beginning, I thought it was only going to be in Tokyo, and then some of the staff began to mention things like "It'd be nice if we can take this to other places too". Then everyone began to discuss together and said things like "Let's make a toast on the opening day!", but because we didn't have any time, it all fell through (laugh). But I've been to the venues a few times, they were really amazing. I didn't think that so many people would come to such an extent, so I'm happy about it.

-- Would you want to do it again if the opportunity arises?

No, because I did this with the thought of it being the last at the very beginning. And this was originally something done as a simple hobby anyway. Every so often when I do interviews for idol magazines, they would ask me what I've been up to lately. Because I would answer with "I'm doing this and this", there were lots of people who said they wanted to see it, and that was how the whole thing came to be. Moreover, I think that I was able to show everyone everything I have this time.

-- Then, as a part of Arashi, what kind of vision do you have from hereafter? Though we can certainly feel your energy and passion at the present as well.

Even though people around us tell us that, we've only done what we've always done. It's not going to change after this, don't you think? There's even a "What do you mean by change?"-like feeling instead. Rather than say in which manner I want us to keep going, I just want us to keep going naturally like we have so far.
