saucy South Asia inspired bedroom

Hi Saucy Dwellers! I've been a long time lurker, but I thought I'd share my bedroom, as it's my favorite room in my (tiny) apartment. They say bedrooms should be a calming color, but red still takes me to my zen place! I've been putting inspirational bits together for a long time, and I've finally incorporated everything together. I love it! This is the style I want to do my room in only in purples and blues. Red looks really nice though.

I kind of think everything looks lost with the color of those walls. You should paint them something to compliment the reds. maybe the color of the silk orchids, but on the wall?

Unfortunately, as I noted above, I rent, and my landlord won't allow me to paint. But I do agree... the awful white is so stark! I've thought about hanging some fun colored textiles, but that might be a bit much.

Perhaps you could do it with lighting, then? Some bulbs directed at the walls, to make them seem the colour of the silk orchids? ( I LOVE the thought of them in that colour, with those red shades!)

The curtains are incredible! Just the right amount of sparkle, and the tone is like a luscious fruit drink.

You could paper the walls using fabric and cornstarch. I bet something just a little bit reflective (like a orange/gold color) would look beautiful!

This is so beautiful! I agree with the above poster in thinking that it would look even better with painted walls, but since you can't (oh, the joys of renting), I think you've done a great job with the colors. And I MUST HAVE those curtains!!
