Looking Back

When things are fraught, which they are right now, I tend to look backward, like this post about childhood goals.

It's funny that you should say that things are fraught right now, because yesterday I had a sudden urge to send you an e-mail of support. No particular reason why--and it's because I couldn't think of a reason to that I didn't. But now you post about things being fraught. I hope stuff untangles, resolves. And I hope everyone's health is okay, or if not, well--sending good wishes.

OMG, when I glanced at this, I thought it said "parole" instead of parasol, and thought: that explains it. ;) xox

I'm sorry things are fraught. I'll try and push a nice Gardena breeze your way, at least!

So sorry about the fraughtness!

Looking backward has been interesting for me lately. On the one hand, I've been occasionally working on a memoir about the things that contributed to making me a writer. (Earliest ambition was to be a ballerina, then a fashion designer, and then by college very intentionally a writer - but I'd been writing since fourth grade.) The other hand has been reconnecting with a couple of people I knew in elementary and junior high school. Strange getting their perspectives of me as I was back then. In a good way.

Hope your reflections re-energize you.
