I'm totally amazed. This is such a beautifully intense story and the quiet and almost fragil tone of it sneaked right into my very cells.
Wonderful work, really!

I liked this a lot. The imagery was really great and the details of his mental state. Very nice.

Thank you! I'm really pleased you liked both of those things - especially Sherlock's mental state, as that can be a tricky thing!

Beautiful. And with a teeming depth of things lurking underneath a surface that seems still. How language rebuilds itself, how it carries things across - one of my favourite themes, and I love how you've handled it. How the words are linked to the pills, and how as the pills decrease the words increase, and a bit of Sherlock is restored to himself.

What "John" means, and that it's not that far from "love", but how even Sherlock sees that it means something, that word, and that it needs to be protected.

Really, honestly beautiful. :)

I don't even know how to begin to do this lovely comment justice, but I will try!

Language - the purpose of it, whether or not it's actually necessary - is a favorite consideration of mine. And I am so pleased to know that the concept of pills-words comes through.

"John" as an almost-synonym for "love" - absolutely! And one of the most interesting things about both words is that the meaning varies, or can vary - the connotation is different contextually.

And I will stop ramble-flailing at you now. ;) Thank you so much! :D
