The running does suck, but this is mostly because you've just biked and swam.
The bike was awful--not because it was long but because it was uphill BOTH WAYS. I'm not kidding. My legs didn't want to move when I started running. It was a short run, though.
If you actually train for it you can do it!!!!! Pick a short distance one for next year and start training, and it'll be cake. You can do it.
Tom pointed out that for most races you end up biking for the longest amount of time, so that's what one should spend the most time training for. I don't know if I agree with that but it's an interesting POV.
Grrr. Facebook went all screwy and the "connection was interrupted". We shall have to chat another time!
In case you didn't get it because of the screwiness, "braingoffy" is meant to be "brainfoggy" but I was tired when I was chatting to one of my friends online and got my letters muddled (I think it's a tired-dyslexic thing!)
WOW that is awesome (and extremely inspirational)!!! i am pretty sure i could do the biking and the running. i am an average swimmer, but i have never trained for a specific distance. i think what scares me the most is swimming in a thrashing and kicking crowd for the first part of the race. i guess i will just have to do a triathlon to get over that fear!

I avoid the crowd and swim off by myself to the side. Although one woman persisted in grabbing my leg for the first 200 yards. Grrr.
As for the horsehoes, all the training needed is a couple cans of watery, watery beer. Does the trick.
