Tornado (DW/Smallville x-over)

May 09, 2007 16:46

I wrote this ficlet in about three minutes. Consider that a warning. There may be a sequel, one day.

Title: Tornado
Rating: G
Pairing: Sarah/Chloe
Spoilers: I haven't seen Smallville in ages, so no. And I'm fairly sure Chloe's third sentence is totally inaccurate in terms of Chloe's knowledge about Clark, but I couldn't resist.

"Give me one good reason why not."
Chloe bite her nail pensively. "I'm in love with someone. A boy. Well, an alien boy with stupid hair and nice eyes. He doesn't know I exist."
"They never do," Sarah snorts derisively, but her hand covers Chloe's and the younger girl can't quite hide the shiver of anticipation. "The world is bigger than Smallville, Chloe. Bigger even than Metropolis, than the whole of Kansas. And you can always come back. Didn't The Wizard of Oz teach you anything?"

Chloe stares around at the cramped room, overflowing with scraps of paper, that passes for The Torch's office. She wonders what kind of newspapers they have in space. And then she looks up at the woman, the journalist from England who said she was here to run a workshop but ended up running hand in hand with Chloe through the corridors with something that looked like a flamethrower after something that looked like...well, a giant blob from a Fifties B-movie. Sarah is leaning against a wooden blue box that's full of promise (one she swears she'll return to the friend she borrowed it from, but Chloe heard her mutter "serves him bloody well right anyway" under her breath and doesn't believe her.)

"Well", she asks. "Are you coming?"
Chloe grins, and she's picking up her bag even as she says "You've seen the future. You tell me."

sarah/f, femslash, crossover, fic, nothing only about being with girls
