Musician of the Week
Today's musician: Hiromi Uehara
She's a Japanese pianist; fairly well-known in the jazz world, I think, but not as much outside of it. What I really enjoy about her is how energetic her playing is. She's played under the name "Hiromi" and "Hiromi's Soundbloom", and her music is widely available in the US.

Musician of the Week
Today's musician: Bambino
I don't know that much about him, but he's a Tuareg rock guitarist from Niger. He's releasing a new CD called "Agadez" in summer or fall, and I think he's going on tour in the US soon as well. I believe he's also released two albums on vinyl under the name "Group Bombino".

Today's group: The Carolina Chocolate Drops
They mostly sing... idk, I guess I'd call it old-timey music, though they also do some covers of more modern songs (like "Hit 'Em Up Style").
Their website is here, with links to purchase their music, and they're also on iTunes. I'm not sure how easy it would be to purchase outside the US, though.

Today's musician: Urna Chahar-Tuchi.
She's a Mongolian singer. I learned about her when I saw her movie, The Two Horses of Genghis Khan (which I also highly recommend). She's a famous singer, but I think it's difficult to buy her music in the US.

Big Scary Exam is OVER! :D :D :D I don't even care whether I passed it or not; the important part is that I'm finished and at worst I won't have to worry about it again until next year.

Something I realized a while back: with the exception of the deaths of one set of grandparents, nothing truly bad has ever happened to me.
Now I feel like I'm always waiting for the other shoe to drop.
