I'll try to explain better: Dakini syndicated my loveinthesuburbs blog so that it would show up on LJ if you take the feed (my blogspeak may not be perfect) and prefer to have all your "news" appear in your LJ friends page. (It's called loveinsuburbs on my friends page.) Trouble is, if you comment to the feed, I get no email notification. If you click over to the actual blog and leave a comment, my blog emails me. Make sense now?

Sarabellae is my LJ account name. Any comment you make to me comes to me. But I'm not writing much original content here now.

Aha, gotcha.
I have your loveinthesuburbs going to my google reader, so if I click through there it takes me to the site, where I can make comments. I see.

Not only does she get no email notification, but the syndicated blogs on LJ also removed the comments after some time (it maybe weeks or even a month or two), so nothing anyone leaves there is persistent.

I read every word you write in both blogs. I often am clicking on your pictures there to see in the largest form I can get them in because I love the images you choose to share. I am abominable about commenting, but I do try to remember to click through when I feel I have anything intelligible to contribute.

As someone who started on a non-LJ blog, I mark Track This on each post that gets syndicated over. Then I get a copy of the comments sent to my email as they come in. Like tshuma says, they're not persistent, but most of the comments happen in the first 2 weeks anyway, and the real history remains on my blog.

Also, I have it ping me whenever something posts to ammy_fury (the LJ feed) so that I know when it's time to click on Track This.
