Two nagging questions I need you to answer properly.

1. Consider a "solution" that isn't actually a solution, because it doesn't solve the problem--what is a better term for this?

2. Also, consider a "rationalization" that isn't rational. What is a better term? Perhaps "heuristic," but that isn't satisfying to me.
