We continue to work on the house, but its almost all set up, and the remaining projects planned out to be done in week or so chunks.  Three rooms and the hall basically done, plus the basement redone.  The other rooms just need the wall paper peeled and then painting.  Painting the exterior will be this spring ( Read more... )

House fun continues.  Joys such as the insurance company claiming that they will take away our insurance (and thusly make our mortgage people come after us for breech of contract) unless we do a bunch of repairs in 30 days.  So the budgeting has been creative.  And so the internet is still waiting.  And so the posts are infrequent ( Read more... )

Haven't had a vacation since my honeymoon/cross country trek, and it is much needed.  We close on Wednesady, and all but a car load of our stuff is currently there.  We're camping out on an air mattress on the living room floor of our apartment until we pass papers.

Apparently no standard insurer in MA will insure a house with a fuse box / 60 amp service.  Swapping it for 100 amp breakers was on our list of things to do within a few years, but it may be 2K or more.  But now they say we can get insured normally only if we promise to replace ( Read more... )
