Well, the umpteemth annual BBQ went well with about 20 people....but I bought 24 ears of corn(@$0.25 each) and then cut them in half. Needless to say, I have CORN! Delicious corn!

So.....what to do with corn?

What is 'masa'?

I shall have to try some of these ideas - we have no tradition of eating corn here (Britain) apart from unimaginatively boiled with a little butter - these look much more exciting!

Masa is corn "dough." It is whole corn meal/flour; when water is added it forms a dough which can be patted into tortillas. I used Bob's Red Mill masa de harina.

Thank you! I've never seen that, tortillas seem to be an entirely factory-manufactured food here. :-o

Polenta seems to be a similar thing though, we can get that - and the chowder looks delish!
