Maybe because October is the season of Hallows

So a while ago, we were experiencing a series of haunting-like events, collaborated by the late lamented Bogie (bane of bears, eater of everything).  We recently were claimed by a new (to us) corgi.  A few days ago, youngest spawn was alone in the house. I found her (and the dog) in the back room.

Perhaps the ghost likes corgis (as all wise people, living and dead, should) and he came back to welcome the new pup to your home.

A friendly, then. That's good. But, yeah. One always wonders what stirs them up...

(Unfortunately, I get spooked whether they're friendly or not.)
