Oh, yes! Giant plot holes, but it was rather fun.

I liked it more than I didn't like it, I think. It was fun to watch.

I thought it was fairly faithful to the canon, except perhaps in mood. And, even though it was a bit Dan Brown, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was in to spiritualism in a big way, so it worked for me.

I thought it was fun.

My understanding is that this version (which I've yet to see) is actually more faithful to the actual books than the classics we've come to associate with Holmes. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

The Watson is far more like the Watson in the books, I grant, than the Rathbone/Bruce movies. It's a fun movie!

Really? In that Holmes and Watson lived in Baker street with a landlady named Mrs. Hudson, sure. I didn't mind the twisting out of place of Irene Adler. Mary was a bit out of left field, though.

I'm not concenred about it not being canon so much as I simply don't care for RDJr. Is he good in the role?

If you don't like what he does, you probably won't like him in the role. And no one else seems to have either screen time or be invested enough to really stand out. I like RDjr for the most part, so it was fun.

I have no idea why he bugs me, but he does. I don't care for Sally Fields either, so....

Perhaps I'll rent it. ;o)
