I can actually imagine that it would be freeing in a sense to wear a burka as you get to see out without showing anything of yourself

Yep, that's why people who like 'em, like 'em. And you know what? I think that's just fine, as long as no one tells another person they HAVE TO wear one, or exerts social pressure that sets that up even if it's unspoken. I think we all have the right to dress as we will (in so much as we can afford ;))

On January 26, 1952 Shepheard's Hotel was destroyed in an explosion, and although rebuilt on another site in 1957, it never regained it's former glory. Given E. Peter's background, I suspect her description of the original hotel to be fairly accurate.

Im glad you guys are safe & sound and in the heart of Mother Egypt-
For us it was beyond a deja vous- enjoy- relax- keep posting- Im smiling and wish we were there!
Except we are off to Oaxaca and Mex City in a week and 1/2!
