Dark eyes returned their gaze back to the other, narrowing very slightly in questioning, as if asking her why she was asking such a question. However, he just mentally shrugged, putting it off as something she was curious about. And if that were the case, then she was probably an only child. Thinking on that tangent reminded him of Naruto and how the blond thought of him as a brother of sorts. At least the other used to, he didn't know if he was still referred to as such ( ... )

Intentions?

Sasuke thought about the possibilities for that one. What could the island have wanted them to do? Bringing complete strangers to meet each other like this through the use of matching rings that didn't come off. Solving the issue together with hardly any clues. If he were the type, he would have thought that they would just have to meet and possibly get to know each other. And while that did happen somewhat, the rings weren't coming any closer in coming off.

Obviously they were missing something important. And the marriage tangent, did that relate at all? What were the key points in a marriage anyway?

This was becoming even more annoying by the second.

"What reasons would it have to bring us together, two strangers. And..." He trailed off, questioning if he should ask something like this, but it was better to cover everything possible. "What are the key points in a marriage?"

The thought, of course, immediately made Chrome duck her head again.

"There is the kiss in the beginning, to signify the vows. Then... then the other things."

Suddenly, all the conversations she heard the girls at school having came to mind.

His eye twitched at that word, images he'd told himself that he would forget coming to mind again. The last time he had kissed someone, the end result hadn't exactly been expected. The kiss itself hadn't been expected. And there was a chance that it would be happening again, albeit with different circumstances.

How did he get mixed up in all this? His only saving grace was that she wasn't one of his fangirls who would jump at the chance.

"We should try out everything and hope that something will get this ring off then."

At least she knew where she stood in this matter. Chrome was certainly different compared to other girls he'd met before and he silently wished that there had been more girls like her when he was growing up. And maybe he would have liked to have a girl like her if he wanted to restore his clan. But that option... He didn't think he had time to consider it anymore.

Sasuke replied, "We should get this over with then. First?"
