Thanks for replying. I realize that going through an entire story word by word would be time-consuming, but even just reading through it quickly would still be really helpful.

I can actually provide the original text as I typed it up as I was translating. I've also highlighted the phrases that I couldn't figure out or was unsure about. So I guess if you can send me your email address in a pm, then I can send it to you. It's in an .odt file, but I can easily convert it to .doc if you prefer. Let me know, and thanks so much again for offering to help. :)

I would like to help. But... does the gaiden contains anything about the main novels? I've only finished reading the 1st novel and I don't like spoilers.

This is from the first gaiden volume, which was published between novels 5 and 6, but apparently the story was first published in a magazine around the same time as the first novel. And chronologically it takes place before the first novel. So I think it should be okay with regard to spoilers, but you'll have to decide for yourself. In any case I appreciate your willingness to help. :)

I've read every single one of this light novel series. Could you tell me exactly which gaiden you want to translate so I could tell you if I'm any help to you at all. You don't need to provide the original Japanese books or text, I have them all.

Oooo you should translate the 17th and 18th novels! So far all i have seen is spoilers (damn me and my impatience :P ) but I really wanna read the novels. I'm sure that if you translate the novels you will make A LOT of people very happy! (me included :D)
