We are two girls, who are best friends. We share an apartment in a city. This time we were on our way to a fine restaurant where we should meet two guys on a double date. It was my friend Lotta who had arranged it. Lotta had met one of the guys some time ago and she talked very much about him after that. Her nagging about him became too much for me so I suggested that she should try to get a date with him. She fell for it and after a few days she had came to me with a brilliant smile and told me that we had been asked for a double date. Because he had a friend who wanted to come too. I was doubtful about it, but I did not have anything to say because she had already accepted and decided when and where. They had even discussed that we maybe should go out and dance after we had eaten.

- It’s time to leave now, are you finished or not, asked Lotta.

- One minute please I must only check that I’ve got my wallet with me.

I looked in the mirror again to check my hairstyle, it was correct, for at least the hundredth time. Then I checked my handbag that I had my wallet in it and, of course, I had.

The cab on the street hooted and we left the apartment. As usual we were a little late and had ordered a cab at the last minute. So we were short of time. Unfortunately there was so much traffic that it took almost forty-five minutes to get to the restaurant where we had decided to meet. It almost felt like if we had walked, we could have been there earlier. For me it was a little like a blind date because I hadn´t met either of them earlier and I was nervous. My heart was beating a little more than usual. According to what Lotta had told me the guy, William, whom she had met, should be nice and be very good looking. If I should trust her, he should be gorgeous. She even thought he could be bisexual. What I know of, I hadn´t met anybody with a character like this before among my acquaintances.

The boys were already there when we finally got there. Lotta introduced me to the guys and them to me. William, Lotta's friend was very good looking, with his dark hair and brown eyes. So this time se didn’t lie about it, he looked like a dream boy. His friend Hans wasn´t so bad either with blond hair, which he had let grow to his shoulders and it was a bit curly. His eyes were something between blue and green. It seems that he had some dark secret to hide because there was something sad in his eyes. Something that affected him could have happened to him. Booth appeared to be around 185 centimeters tall. They looked great together and wore similar clothing, very neat and modern. Maybe they could be a pair.

After some discussion we ordered a bottle of white wine to share and decided to take some fish dish to eat. I chose wol-fish, which I liked very much. In the beginning our conversation was fumbling, but after a while it went better and better. They were easy to talk with and we had several interests in common. During the dinner my nervousness got lost and I could relax and laugh at their jokes. They were very funny and it seems like they could joke about everything. It may have been the influence of the wine that helped me to set my nerves free.

We really talked about everything between heaven and earth, even about daily things like what we worked with. William worked as a computer engineer for a small company and Hans as an interior decorator in his own firm. They thought they had a good life but missed something. Neither of them had a girlfreind at the time, they were two bachelors. Good for us, I thought, because I really liked them. They were very polite, nice and funny. I didn’t regret that I said yes to the date. I decided for myself to hopefully keep contact with them. I really wanted to be friends with them.

It seems that even Lotta liked them a lot and we had a very good evening. The food was superb and I really enjoyed it. When we were finished with the dinner and the dessert, we felt that we weren’t ready to say good-bye to each other so we decided to go somewhere to dance or take a drink together.

The evening was a hit and we became good friends. We met each other several times after.
And we lived a happy life.

THE END!
