[If you're anywhere near House 26, you may notice a tall redhead pointing a stick at a broom laying on the ground. He's muttering several phrases that don't sound like any recognizable languages, though at times he's so frustrated that he's doing less muttering and more yelling. At various intervals, he'll lower the stick, hold out his other hand,

[Hermione's walking back from a trip around the village practicing her filial magic and just happens to come by while he's yelling UP. She stops and stares.]

Ron... are you trying to make it fly?

[At the sound of her voice, Ron looks up, grateful for any possible assistance and to have something else to spend his time on.]

No. I'm trying to scream myself hoarse, is all.

[She sighs and shakes her head as she approaches further.]

Good luck. I didn't think it was possible to make a broom fly properly here.

[What, what, what? It's Ron's job to be blunt, Hermione! DX]

[How about a passerby flying around on her own broom, looking around and noticing him? It doesn't take Arche long to figure out what he's doing, and she slowly begins to lower herself to the ground just behind him, wondering if he'll A: Succeed, B: Notice her, or C: Just keep trying this until she can spook him from behind.]

[Congratulations, Arche, you've caught Ron when he's in Oblivious Mode. Of course, that's not so hard, considering that's pretty much his default function. He's just trying really hard to get the broom airborne, even going so far as to cast a Levitating Charm on it and growl in frustration when the broom just hovers feebly before clattering back to the ground.]

[It's really kind of disappointing to see that he can't get it to work. As much as she likes being unique, it'd be kind of fun to have another person flying around on a broom like her. But if she can't get that from him she can at least get some entertainment. Lowering herself down right behind him, she leans forward and abruptly speaks up.]

[Ron's gotten a bit soft over his time in Luceti, otherwise he would have been able to notice someone riding a broomstick right behind him or hexed her the moment she spoke up. Instead, he fumbles with his wand as he starts, somehow managing not to drop it as he whirls around to face her. Even as his face turns red, he notices the broom and wonders if she's another witch from his world.]

Merlin, don't do that. I mean, yeah. Yeah, I guess you can say that.

[He points to her broom.] Were you flying that?

Neville doesn't know jack about flying. /trolls Ron instead

[The problem with being a friend of Draco Malfoy is that sometimes visiting him means passing that bit of dirt owned by Everything Wrong With Draco's Homeworld. Hisoka vaguely recognizes Ron from the DA meeting and -- really? This is one of the great and powerful wizards who were going to perfect magical defense in Luceti?] Yes. [Ron whirls around at the sound of the mostly unfamiliar voice, wondering if this is one of the masses of people who showed up at the DA meeting that he didn't get around to talking to. He doesn't really like Hisoka's tone, but he's going to chalk that up to him being cranky about this stupid broom business.]

[Never really one to hide his emotions, Ron feels a sneer on his face before he could really pull it back.]

[After hearing enough yelling, Harry's going to come out to investigate. The lack of proper flying brooms is enough to drive one insane after being here so long. However, he does have a little experience with trying.]

[By the time Harry comes out, Ron's ready to throttle the broom. It's bad enough that it's a common sweeping broom, but he would have thought it'd be a little more cooperative than that. Glancing back at Harry, he resists the urge to hurl his wand on the ground in frustration.]

[Oh! Merlin recognizes that face (and that hair) from the meeting. So he lopes his way on over and decides to get a little nosey.]

[Ron turns at the sound of the voice, not quite managing to keep back the blush that rises to his face when he realizes that Merlin is talking to him. Oh... Merlin, ironically enough.]

Er... I'm trying to get this broom in the air. My magic's not quite cutting it, though.

[Completely friendly, he finishes his approach with a warm smile.]

Mind if I give it a go? The magic bit, I mean. Not the riding. [He has heard about the broom-stick riding from Harry. Not entirely sure how he feels about that one.]
