Why we get the letters, I've no idea -- it could be about the whole Father's Day business, who knows? But we exchange them for personal belongings, and that's a fair trade!
Normally, I would agree, but in circumstances like this, where a portion of the population is made to suffer? I would prefer an event such as the one we just had to not happen rather than regain any of my possessions.
Worse has taken place before, and you know that's out of our control. Besides, events are just events -- it's the participants who turn it into what it is.
...It does, doesn't it? If we do what it wants, we receive rewards. If we disobey, it punishes us. Perhaps the powers that be think we're incapable of handling our own lives...?
