Nav links and borders and sidebar text -- oh my!

Hello. Yesterday I did Blogging For The Cure for literally twenty-four hours, so I was pretty sick of looking at my sad and pathetic Generator layout. I decided to revamp the whole thing using Expressive: River At Night as a template. Thanks to this community, I pretty much have it how I want it. Unfortunately, there's a few things I can't seem to

For #1, change #header .nav .item {} to #header .nav a {}

#2: .widget-header, .widget-header a { color: #ffffff; }

I don't see anything wrong in #3, and #4 requires changing the image file that's generating the sidebar border.
