Title: Storgê
Fandom: DC
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Gotham loves Batman. Batman needs a Robin.
Notes: "Storgê" is Ancient Greek for “parental love”. The pretentious title is justified on grounds of the fic terrifying me. mattador, this is all your fault.

Gotham has a bargain with Batman. )

i... what do you suppose it means that, on reading this, my reaction is not so much the "let me now hide shaking from the scary bat-god" but the "yes, this" one? this is so... summational? so poking-an-unerring-finger-into-the-heart-of. this is Gotham. this is her, and him, and them. i'm already thinking of pointing people who haven't read Batverse (or who have) and don't 'get the fuss' to this fic, because this is so wrong right.

Okay, you can't see me, but can I tell you I have the biggest grin on my face? This is insanely flattering - as opposed to just me being insane because dude, Gotham talked to me. *points to icon* :D Thank you for letting me know how much you enjoyed this fic.

I can see where the terror comes from. But this fic is so perfect. This is Bats' Gotham in all her glorious dementia. To be loved by a madman? Nothing in comparison to being loved by and having a mad city for a parent.

When Gotham loves you, she kills your parents. And you love her and you can't leave her and that probably should be called 'Gotham Syndrom'. And possibly, in some parts of the DCU, it is.

Think there's a survival kit? Or would that be a one way ticket to the other coast?

If she loves you enough, I'm not sure a ticket out would be enough. Cases in point: Bruce, Jason. ...Steph.

Thanks! I had a lot of fun writing this, when I wasn't creeped out out of my mind.

The best villains, the best characters, are complex. Gotham is one of the best, and you've created a new perspective for me, on her. This was brilliantly done. You've made me think about Gotham differently.

Creepy. It all fits very very well

Gotham is a crazy, crazy city. And yeah, very much a character in her own right.

Thanks so much for letting me know my insane little fic made you see her differently! (out of curiosity, how do you usually see her?)

Oh, wow, this was wonderfully chilling. O_O I absolutely love the psychotic, obsessed personality you've given Gotham. It just suits her so well. And all the imagery in this was just so perfect, shocking, even, as with the blood roses on his parents' chests and his birth in that alley.

*applauds*

Yeah, Gotham is... special. *understatement is a go!*

I shamelessly stole homaged the gunshot-wound-as-flower image from one of my favourite novels. Now that I think about it, the characters making the comparison in the book are a kid and a cop, which is fitting-for-Gotham in a way that's... frankly a little disturbing. :/

Thanks for the compliments!
