Lyssa stretched up on her toes, hands wound behind Rune’s neck.
“Lyss,” he protested as she pulled him down, their lips brushing, her legs trembling as she strained even further.
“Hmm?” She grasped at the air with her mouth as he slipped away.
“I don’t bend like that.”
She scowled. “Well, I certainly can’t get taller.”
“I’m not asking-”
Lyssa lodged a foot over the top of an open drawer, planted her hands along the counter, and hoisted herself up until her lips descended on his.
“Better?” she said. From her vantage, hands splayed to either side of the man, effectively pinning him to the counter, his face now inches beneath her own, she was quite convinced that it was.
Rune peered up at her, and slowly down at her makeshift foothold, and laughed. “Perhaps,” he said, a dangerous grin settling itself on his features, “you should take to carrying a bucket with you so you‘ll have something to stand on.”
“That could work,” said Lyssa, with another playful peck at his lips, and he leaned in for another. “I know just the place to keep it.”
“Oh?”
“Mmm-hmm.” She tapped her lips to the point of his nose and slid back to the floor. “On your head.”
“Lot of good it would do you there,” he said. “You couldn’t reach it.”
