My entry for The Darkness Within. I really wanted to do something more, but I haven't felt like writing, so accept this complete tease.
“Bonnie,” Sethan called.
“Oh?” The girl turned to face him, all thick lashes and pouty lips. Whatever Kairn said, Sethan was sure the girl looked like nothing so much as a cow.
Sethan took a breath as her eyes slid up and down him. “I… have something for you.” He glanced past her. Berwyk was looking. Good. He grabbed her hand.
“Oh?” she said again, in that obnoxiously silky tone she always had for Kairn when she was leading him about by the nose, as she peered down at the fingers curled around her own.
“This.” Fighting the twist in his stomach, he pulled her in, threw a hand to her cheek, and kissed her hard. He twitched as she gripped his hand and returned the kiss with as much force as it had been given. She tasted like berries and smelled like flowers and it was far too long before she pulled away.
Bonnie giggled as they both stepped back, and there was a gleam in her big, dark eyes. “I knew you’d come around.”
Sethan licked his lips, wrinkling his nose as he cleared away the gloss that had rubbed off of hers. Another look behind her found Berwyk heading their way. “Take care, Bonnie,” he said with a grin, before he turned and stalked off.
