“What happened? Is there something wrong with the baby?” Rin looked alarmed when she saw Nino’s face while looking the lab result from her latest check up.
Nino shook his head. “No, the baby’s perfectly healthy. It’s just that, didn’t we decide not to know the gender?” He asked, Rin nodded. “Well, it’s printed over here.” He showed her the paper.
Male.
Rin sighed relief. “I thought I’m gonna be having twins or something. Well, there’s nothing we can do now that we know.”
“You’re right. At least now, we can start shopping for a baby boy’s clothes and other stuff.” He agreed.

“Moshi, moshi(Hello). Ano…don’t panic but I think our baby’s about to get out.” Rin told Nino nervously over the phone. “A-re? Hello? Are you listening?” She repeated.
“Rin! Are you ok?” Nino appeared gasping for breath leaning at the door to her hospital room. Rin looked at her phone then back at him.
“I…I’m fine. How did you get here so fast? You were just on the phone. I mean I was just talking to you over the phone.” She blabbered.
“Is the baby really about to go out already?”
“Yeah, the doctor just came here a minute ago and told me to prepare to be transferred to the delivery room, my labor just---“extreme pain overcame her.
“Oi, Daijoubu?(are you alright?)” Nino rushed to her side holding her hand.
“Daijoubu ja nai(no, I'm not)” she grimaced, “this is normal but ITAI YO!(it hurts a lot)” she cried out putting her hand on her back while gripping his hand real tight with the other. The stretcher arrived just as the pain subsided to carry her to the delivery room.

A baby’s cry awakened Nino up. He fell asleep on the chair beside her bed while still holding her hand. He sat up and looked around. Rin was also stirring up.
“How are you feeling?” he stroke her hair.
“Ano, dare desu ka?” she asked peering at him curiously.
“Eh?...You’re kidding right? I’m Nino, Kazunari Ninomiya, your husband…eto… Eh?” He started to panic.
Rin let out a meek laugh.
“I’m kidding.” She caressed his face, “Just trying to get you back, I guess, for earlier. It was really painful you know.”
“Yokatta...(Im relieved)It really scared me.”
“How’s our baby?” she looked at the baby at the crib beside her.
“Our baby’s healthy. Thanks to you.” He walked towards the crib and lifted their baby then gave him to her. “Omedatou.”
“Omedatou.(Congratulation)” She repeated it to him, receiving their baby in her arms. They both watched the baby sleep for a while.
“I felt really helpless just watching you a while ago. I could only keep saying,
’Ganbatte’(Keep going) over and over.” He admitted.
“Your presence was already enough. You didn’t even complain that your hand hurt from my grip but instead you never let go. Arigatou.” She smiled at him. “Hora, akachan(look baby), your dad is really sugoi, when he heard that you were coming, he came at super speed.”
The baby seemed to smile.
Nino laughed.
“I just thought of a name for him.” They said in unison.
“What is it?” they both uttered in synch again. They laughed then decided to test it out.
“On three then… One, two, three!”
“YUTO.” The word seemed to echo in the room as they said it. Even they were surprised.
“Meaning, Excellent” he started.
“Or Outstanding.” She finished.
“Like you.” The said to each other and smiled.
“Whew! I thought you’re gonna name him Ryuren.” He sighed.
“And I thought you’re gonna name him Orenji, from orange juice!” She laughed at her own silly thought.
“Yu-chan…” she softly called gazing at their baby.
“Ii namae.(good name)” He agreed.
