“How’s work going?” she asked when he called on video phone.
“Great, we’re almost done here. I’m sorry I haven’t been around again lately.”
“Daijoubu. I understand, I wouldn’t have agreed to marry you if it would bother me besides you always make up for it when you come back.”
He chuckled, “Thanks, and I will make it up to you. How’s Yu-chan?”
“You’ve really became a dad, asking about his child right away.” She laughed. “He’s right here beside me. He’s not being fussy anymore. Oh! and I discovered that he loves orange juice too!” she lifted Yuto so he could be seen on the video phone.
“Hontou?” He laughed. “I wish I could have been there.” He sighed looking at his child longingly.
“Ano ne, you should focus on your task there and don’t worry so much about us. We’re both wishing you ‘Ganbatte’. Nee Yu-chan? Tell papa ‘Fighting!’” She tried to comfort him and held both Yuto’s hands into a fist. He chuckled then sighed.
“Ganbarre masu!(i'll do my best)”
“Ano, I’m singing a lullaby to Yu-chan, want to listen?”
“Ii yo, I would love it.” He said finally perking up.
“Ja, kite kudasai.(please listen)” She cradled Yuto in her arms and began to sing.
In this quiet night, I’m waiting for you

Time passes by and memories fade
But time can’t erase the love that we made
And the stars in the sky that I wished upon

“It’s beautiful. Arigatou. Oyasumi.” He said. She yawned.
“Oyasumi. Mata ne.” she kissed the phone screen.

“Wakey-wakey…” she heard someone whispered and felt her son’s little hand tap on her face. “Come Yu-chan, let’s wake mama up.” He kissed her forehead.
“What time did you get back? What time is it already?” she asked half asleep when she saw her husband by sitting by her side holding their son.
“It’s still 7am, I got back not too long ago. I went home right away as soon as we finished. Yuto was already awake and fussing when I came in, so I changed his diaper. Nee, Yu-chan? Oh! And I also made some breakfast.” He was playing with Yuto.
“Wow, are you sure you got back not too long ago? You seemed to have done a lot of things already. You should have rested first---and I can see that you’ve brought him a new toy again.” She sat up watching the both of them. Upon hearing the word toy, Yuto showed his new toy to his mother.
“Daijoubu.” He said in response to resting and the toy, smiling at Yuto.
Rin pouted. Nino kissed her lightly.
“Hai hai… I’ll rest for a while. Is there something that’s bothering you?”
“Yu-chan always wakes up so early. It worries me sometimes especially since he started to learn how to roll over.”
“Hmm, you’re right. He is very energetic after all. We’ll have to put some railings then.”
“Another thing, those toys are going to fill up the chest fast.” She said looking over at the other side of the room.
Nino laughed.
A memory box now turned into a treasure chest lay on the other side of the room. It had three keyholes now.
The third key hangs on Yuto’s neck.
Above the treasure chest, hanged a family picture of Nino, Rin, and Yuto with both their hands up forming a “peace” sign while smiling broadly.
