Non frum Jews go to Shul at most 3 times a year, twice on Rosh Hashanah and for Yom Kippur. How sad that the only 3 days they go to Shul are the longest and most somber of the year...that is a way to get closer to Judaism? is that first one a quote? because there definitely is a huge population of jews that in NO way qualify as frum (I would be one of them...even long before I decided to go to cantorial school) that definitely celebrate chagim and go to shul for shabbos and all that. there's a lot of gray area in there.

that being said...NOBODY does purim like the orthodox. I was thisclose to going to pico/robertson (the frum area here in LA) to celebrate with my more observant friends.
